Our long journey back to Lhasa took us on a mountain pass with views of some truly magnificent sights.

On Route to Karo La Pass

Karo La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 5.010m (16,500ft)
above the sea level. The lips of two major glacier dropping from Kaluxung's North Face and
Noijin Kangsang's South Face reach to
within a few hundred meters from the highway.

Mt.Noijin Kangsang is known as a holy peak for the local Tibetans and people
used to burn incense and put prayer flags for the peak at the pass.

Wild yaks roamed the mountain ranges, with the stone ovos of the shamanistic religion present.
